    Xu Bing

The forms and viewing angles of the works are pulled together in a dynamic relationship as the viewer moves through the different floors and spatial positions of the museum. Xu Bing points out that the 'perspective' used in the work, as the language used by humans to describe the world, like all other languages in the world, is an intermediary between our minds and the outside world; and as our minds are shaped by various languages, there are bound to be blind spots.

"What is left to be discovered in the complex coding system of the world's scripts, in the uniqueness of Chinese characters, and in the construction of human civilisation? This has always been a subject of interest to me. I often feel a sense of wonder that we are still communicating with picture-ancient symbols in the age of cyber and space, as if we are living in a time warp. We are fortunate and special in this respect, and my art is guided by it," says Xu Bing. Xu Bing says.

    Ni youyu

Ni Youyu often subtly invokes the conceptual and pictorial sources of art history as a way of shaping, measuring and expanding himself, and in doing so he also evokes the scraps of artefacts, photographs of unknown photographers or old flea market objects that he collects on a regular basis. These readymades reveal his keen interest in human history and museums, and through his imaginative reconstructions, these relics from the depths of time are given a new halo that leads the viewer to re-visit them, and his overall artistic form, while reflecting originality, is thus characterised by 'Postproduction'.
