    Unit3 Research proposal

Introduction: This research proposal aims to explore the struggle of young people as they attempt to break free from traditional family systems in the face of modern society. The proposed project will utilize collage and painting to visually represent the tension between young people and their families, as well as the process of becoming oneself.

I want to display handmade works, paintings, and collages in Unit 3 of the exhibition, along with three to four pieces (a series) that require lighting and are still in the 2D/3D range. In addition to the handmade works, paintings, and collages that will be displayed in Unit 3 of the exhibition, there will also be a series of pieces that require lighting and are still in the 2D/3D range. These pieces will add an extra layer of depth and dimension to the overall display. Each piece has been carefully chosen to complement the other works in the exhibition, creating a cohesive and visually stunning experience for visitors. The lighting will enhance the textures and colours of each piece, bringing them to life in a way that wouldn't be possible without it. Overall, this combination of handmade works, paintings, collages, and lit pieces will offer a unique and memorable experience for all who attend.

Research Objectives: The primary objectives of the proposed project are to:

    1. Explore the tension between traditional family systems and modern society.

    2. Examine the struggle of young people to break free from traditional family systems and become themselves.

    3. Evaluate the impact of societal pressures on young people and their families.

    4. Create a visual language that communicates the experience of young people as they break free from traditional family systems.

    Research Questions:

    1. How does the tension between traditional family systems and modern society manifest itself in collage and painting?

    2. What are the societal pressures that affect young people as they attempt to break free from traditional family systems, and how can collage and painting express them?

    3. What artistic techniques and strategies can be utilized to communicate the experience of breaking free from traditional family systems?

Methodology: The proposed project will adopt a mixed-method approach. It will involve primary and secondary research. The primary research will consist of interviews with young people who have attempted to break free from traditional family systems, as well as observations of familial and societal interactions. The secondary research will involve literature reviews of the existing works on traditional family systems and societal pressures. The research data will be analyzed to identify the key themes and patterns that will be used to create the collage and painting.

Expected Outcomes: The expected outcomes of the proposed project include a series of collage and painting pieces that visually represent the tension between traditional family systems and modern society, as well as the struggle of young people to break free from them. The pieces will be exhibited in galleries, museums, and other public spaces to raise awareness of the impact of traditional family systems on young people. Additionally, the project will contribute to the field of art and social studies by providing a unique visual language that communicates the experience of breaking free from traditional family systems.

Conclusion: The proposed research project aims to explore the struggle of young people as they attempt to break free from traditional family systems in the face of modern society. The project will use a mixed-method approach to gather data, which will be used to create a series of collage and painting pieces that highlight the tension between traditional family systems and modern society. The expected outcomes of the project will provide a unique perspective on the experience of breaking free from traditional family systems, which will contribute to the field of art and social studies.

About the October Research Festival Project:

According to my early plans, I'll interrupt the original unit 3 for the October festival and present it as a podcast or workshop instead. This decision was not an easy one to make, but I ultimately realised that it was the best course of action. The October festival is a significant event in our community, and I want to ensure that we have a strong presence there. By presenting Unit 3 as a podcast or workshop, we can reach a wider audience and engage with them in a more interactive way. This will also give us the opportunity to showcase our work and connect with potential collaborators. Additionally, this change will allow us to focus on refining the content of Unit 3 and ensuring that it is of the highest quality.
